Praha wont leave you. Not the two of us. This mother has strong arms. You have to get used to her or put her in fire in two points, from Vysehrad and from Hradschin, then it would be possible to be free. Frans Kafka to Oskar Pollak (1902)

Favourite spots: |
Karluv Most (Karl's Bridge) -I have always loved the hands of this angel, in the left side. His tenderness has no limits, and his fingers tremble. But, from this night, those hands are nothing for me, i can say, becuse i have kissed those hands- Franz Kafka (a Fight)

What's really great: |
The old town, where the heart of the city beats, one the most glorious places in Europe, where one can stroll for hours It's noon and i'm sitting under a umbrella full of colours. At my feet Praha. I see it as i presumed the bewitched cities are. I see it as the dream of rare builders, as a throne, as the city where the magic lives. As city carved in the stone (Vitezlav Nezval)

Accommodations: |
Ask in Cedok (Panska, 5) if you have no reservations...still having the list of places of the times of The Wall
Nightlife: |
The Hotel Diplomat (north) has a go karting downstairs the garage...curious. I played with the Minister of Defense of the country and his second guy (i lost the race by the way) two days before the 11-S (I guess he didn't have time for races after that date)
Hangouts: |
The pivnice or hospoda are just bars. Just beer. The vinara is quite the same, but with wine (smaller, more expensive) The Kavarna is the place for coffee, with cakes (and good white wine sometimes)
Restaurants: |
Please, whatever you do, avoid U Fleku...that's not Praha...it's Prahaland Resort...just for tourist, price for unpolite service. If you wanna find a good pub or restaurant with local specialities, just cross the river or walk some meters from the center...tourists or travellers?

Other recommendations: |
The jewish quarter, Kampa Island (for romantics, The castel and the Cathedral (go upstairs -300 steps- and enjoy the views)
