The water in Granada

  10 votes

Granada travelogue picture
There's nothing like the sound of the water in Granada. The city was made to be enjoyed, as the dream of the king, the pearl of Al-Andalus. The Alhambra (the red one) the most beautiful trace of the arab times, shows the visitant how the water can be part of the building in fonts, rivers, rain...The Albaicyn, the old arab suburb where every corner is a small surpirse for the senses;

Favourite spots:

The Alhambra, the most visited place in Spain. The Albaicyn, the old arab suburb. The XV c. Cathedral, the nightlife (more than 60.000 students at the local University) and the Alpujarras, small mountain villages. The opportunity of skiing in the morning and rest on the beach in the afternoon. The southern Ski resort in europe

What's really great:
The hospitality of its people, the low prices, the wonderful weather (specially in Spring) the good hotels for everyone.

Sights:

The sunset from San Nicolas balcony, in albaycin.

Accommodations:
5 stars: AC Santa Paula. In the very center of the city, in an old church. Moderated prices (the suite costs 600 euros -more than 100 sq meters)
4 starts: Hotel Saray and Granada Center.
Hostels: Youth Hostel just 15 minutes walking to the center.

Nightlife:
thousands, whatever style. Now the crowd are around Plaza Nueva, but also in Pedro Antonio you'll find good mood

Hangouts:
same

Restaurants:

The tradition are the tapas, which are served with your drink for free, small sandwiches, or ham with bread, or... just something to eat with you drink, but after a couple of them you'll be already full.

Other recommendations:
Ski in sierra nevada
