The Capital of the slovak republic is like the little sister of Prague, the nice, the charming...but not the beautiful. Well, i think it is beautiful too, in a special way. when checoslovaquia collapsed, the national treasures were moved to Prague. Slovak keept its spirit.

Favourite spots: |
The castle, nothing really special but very interesting (museum of history and old musical instruments). The Michel's gate, rest of the city walls (museum of war and great views from the top floor) The old City Hall (museum of the city) and all the old town walking slowly

What's really great: |
The low motion city, keeping the taste of a city of provinces. The taste of a good piece of cake with coffee in a small cafe. i liked the city a lot, but my girlfriend wants to go there for new year's eve!

Accommodations: |
The best option is the Hotel Danube, too expensive but with great views to the river. There are a couple of youth hostel in the north part of the city

Nightlife: |
Johnie Walker, zelena ulica 8. underground. That was all we visited at night
|
|
Hangouts: |
There are a lot of cafes in the old town. The smell is delicious (coffee and cakes, coffe and cakes...) juts take it easy and taste them all!

Other recommendations: |
Viena is just 65 kms from here, by train, road or boat. It's a good one day stroll from there.
