It was my first time stepping my feet on a foreign land which its first language is English,I was so excited, being barely 21..I think Sydney is a very fast moving city and at the same time, its people love to spend some time hanging out..
|
Sydney has everything to offer, from the best Fish and chips I have ever tasted to fresh milk and juice and what's more, they have enough kebab all around town to survive my Asian tummy for the whole one week I was there. The seminar I attended was in town, University of Technology Sydney and I walked everyday from my hotel to the university, feeling a bit chill since it was winter in June over there. Paddy Market is a good place to shop for souvenirs and to buy very cheap things from kangaroo fur to the most weird looking earrings which I bougth a pair and until today,I'm still in love with them. Also not to miss, the famous King Street..the red lgith district. I stayed somewhere around there, in a hotel in Pitt Street. It's everything a bakpacking could ask for..

Favourite spots: |
Loved the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the Darling Harbour and its fancy restaurants and lines of pubs and cafes. The birds eye view from the bridge showed me the whole of Sydney and it was really nice..You can also try climbing it if you're not afraid of height.. If you're lucky you might also spot people climbing the Opera House..

What's really great: |
I love mostly the koala and of course the kangaroo..if you're there during wintertime,it's hard luck for you to spot them koalas at the gumtrees cause they'd be sleeping quietly, being semi-high for chewing the gum tree! I think if you go to the centre you can touch the koalas and take pictures but if you're only seeing them in their natural habitat, winter time is a bad time.
