Capital of the Tuareg world and a destination that I had heard much about from overlanders way back when I was still at school. Laid back and with charm.
| Favourite spots: |
Marche Nigerien or Marche Centrale. Just wandering around the town has a real charm.
The Nigerien market is on the far side of the oued from town.
| What's really great: |
Late afternoon in the middle of town. The view from Hadriane. The warmth fo the welcome.
| Accommodations: |
Gite Saharienne - not the cheapest place in town but good food and good company.
| Other recommendations: |
Top of Hadriane. Hadriane sits just outside Tamanrasset. I believe that is slightly to the south. It's quite easy to ascend and the views are great.
This shows the most difficult part of the ascent
