Hi Amanda,
thanks for your comments on the San Vitale pics. It is really amazing to walk around in this very old church and to regard the gorgeous mosaics. Hope you are doing well!
Have a nice day - Petra

Budapest!

Amanda,
I have really been enjoying your uploads from Budapest! The architecture is amazing and you've managed to capture so much detail! It has been such a pleasure to view!

Thanks too for your comment on my Hilltribe report. It was a really special trip for us - my son is engaged and it dawns on me that my days for tripping with the older of my kids are probably numbered.

Thunderstorm in Kotor

Posted: 2009-06-20 06:10 PM
Amanda,

it is only right now, that Kotor has become wet. It is midnight Sat/Sun 20/21 June! The day was beautiful. But this storm is something else!! Absolutely positively the most beautiful thunderstorm I have ever seen in my life, and I am extremely careful with statements like that! Mutliple, poli-arm lightnings zipping the sky every 2 seconds. No words can describe this!! I took a few poor pictures, but cannot post them, as Im using my iPhone at the Citadelle with free wifi (remember this one?), but I will post them on Globo next week. Life is good!! I so love this thunderstorm very much!!!!! Oh, yeah!

Greetings from gorgeous Kotor.

The Camino

Posted: 2009-06-18 06:36 PM
Hola Amanda, thanks for writing me.
Your friend will enjoy the Camino de Santiago, it is unique.
I am well, I earnt some money and bought one way ticket to Bucharest in a low cost airline for only 40 euro, and then returned back home overland through Gagauzia and Transdnistria, then ex Yugoslavia countries, republic of Srpska, Brcko district, Albania, Greece, Italy, and so on to Spain, stopping in lovely places, such as Itaca island, Montecassino monastery, etc. traveling by night in boats or trains, sometimes hitch hiking, to save money in accommodation.
hasta la vista

Hiya,

thanks, Amanda! I have a feeling I will write something... The thing is though that weather forecast is totally rubbish! I'm not sure how much I will enjoy rain and thunderstorms...

Hmm...

Best regards

Thanks Amanda

Hi
I returned from a week in Wales to find to my astonishment that I had won the prize and received some congratulations. I really wondered whether the inclusion of notes on a sport might seem an act of desparation - but felt I had nothing to lose!

Previously I have regarded Wales as one of my mountain walking areas but I was pleased to find there was plenty to interet me now that I am rstricted on mountains.

Trade you for the Beaches!

Posted: 2009-06-04 03:17 PM
Amanda,
You go some pretty awesome places yourself! Believe me when I say that when you are sleeping on a mat on the floor, a lounge chair under a palapa on the beach is looking pretty good!

And you've had my all time dream vacation, going to Africa! I can't get one of the kids to choose that! I'm holding out on the oldest who goes in two years. Maybe I'll twist his arm!

Hi Amanda,

I also love Devon, I made it my home many years ago as a choice and have not regretted it, even though I am regarded as the Old Cockney, the remark is not with malice. Before my recent illness I had thought about doing a bit about Devon but now I am trapped in the UK for while it is the ideal opportunity. I will, over the next few months, complile a series on the non tourist places that I love in my adopted home, maybe not very exotic but a wonderful landscape and a lot of history. Thanks for your interest, I will do my best to make it attractive to Globies. Regards, Tony.
