Bangkok Palace

Hi David,

I hope you enjoyed the slide show. I wanted to share the experience and the beauty of these oriental designs found in the palace. The slide show made this possible.

I am travelling in Australia now and will be here for a month. I hope to be active again in a few weeks when I return to KL.

Cheers,

Farizan

Greetings

David, thank you for your kind words. I cried a little when I wrote about the gorillas, I must admit (I know it was not very manly), but it was cathartic.

I have seen some rock art in Namibia and Utah that I can remember for the top of my head, but those in Somaliland were so vivid almost like they were painted a few days before...

Kindest regards,
Krys

report feedback

tanks for da compliments re: the report of the month!
Yes, I am proud, and appreciative.
I have just published another report today, and I hope that you find that interesting as well.
With Ryanair and Aerlingus offering cheap as chips flights to formerly exotic Morocco, I hope some of you get to explore both locations. I have a few concerns about mass tourism, but I know North Africa has experienced far worse phenomena, and I am sure that Morocco and Africa will continue to be Morocco and Africa despite all efforts of the corporate World.

The "M" Word

Posted: 2008-02-04 08:35 PM
davidx - the documentary "Supersize Me by Morgan Spurlock" sheds a little light on this matter. Here is a snippet for your consumption:

Morgan Spurlock: What is this a picture of?
Child: I don't know. George W. Bush?
[Morgan shows the camera that it is actually a picture of Jesus]

Morgan Spurlock: Who's that?
[Shows picture of Ronald MacDonald]
Child1: MacDonald, Ronald MacDonald.
Child2: MacDonald!

Morgan Spurlock: Where have you seen him?
Child1: On television, on the commercials.
Child2: He's the character that made McDonald's, and he does a lot of funny stuff on TV.

Camino

Posted: 2008-02-03 02:26 PM
Hola David. Many pilgrims make the Camino for cultural reasons, so I invite you to make it!.
When you arrive to Santiago you must head to Casa do Dean to receive your Compostela document, written in Latin language purposes (I have just posted my Compostela under my Travel Log, so you can have a look at it, and see that I am called Georgium Ioannem). Then, they will ask you if you made the Camino for religion or cultural. If for Cultural purposes, then they will deny you the Compostela…! The Compostela document gives you right to pay 50% less in Iberia flights, and to eat for free, three times a day during three days, in the luxurious Parador Reyes Catolicos.
By the way, I have posted some Horreos pictures in answer to your comments to my Camino pictures.
Hasta la vista, amigo.
jorge
