Many thanks - good unusual light made the shot!

Hi Krys,

Many thanks for the compliment! The shot was taken on New Years Eve at 4.20pm just as the winter sun was setting and the tide coming in....so great colour reflections!

As you know shots like this are so hard to get...maybe one for every thousand that you take! It is just luck most of the time to get the right light, colour and subject!

I am off to South America for 3 months soon, so hope to get a few more photographic opportunities!

Kind regards,

Brit

Happy New Year, Krys.

Hi Krys,
Thanks for the additional info on the sunglasses. Yes it would be a long journey to return them. :) I don't seem to have much luck with them either, if they don't fall when I am cycling then I seem to lose a lense here or there. Enjoyed your report, Chicago sounds great.
Happy travels in 2010
All the best
Fred.

Mutianyu Wall

I went to Simitai and Badaling when I went to China in 2001, and Simitai is by far (IMHO) the better of the two. Badaling is full of tourists and has been completely restored, while Simitai was more rustic and probably closer to the state it had been in for most of its use, as well as very few tourists in comparison.

Hangzhou

My experience in Hangzhou was very negative and that why I never wrote a report about the city. Still, yours highlighted a few of the things about the place that I did like. Good job!
