Yes, tomorrow afternoon I am due to leave for my holiday to China. Planning of this trip has not been without its challenges and I still have certain issues around the bit in Tibet. So, in normal circumstances I would have been more excited to leave than I am at the moment, and it has been a year since I went on a proper holiday... eh.
Venice is truly spectacular. When I spoke about the city with a friend, who had never heard about it (yes, yes - there are still people around, who have not been around...), he was shocked to hear how the city was built and that even today vessels replace cars for transportation.
I wanted to see the palace inside myself, but the queue was just too long, and I am not a museum person that much anyway...

hi, Tony. dont believe them! they just want to keep themselve without troubles, becuase they have to start working when you get lost. (and these departments likes it to be without work, if it would be possible they would also restrict spain and italy because of heave theft crimes...hehehe)
the same recommendations from our german ministry...
this area is probably one of the savest regions in the entire country. If you like to go there, I can advise you guides to organize everything. Or you can hire me :-)
