I tried to add the rest of my comment to yliang's report on Castelnuovo di Ponto, but the website wouldn't accept what it saw as a second comment. Here it is, if you are interested:
[Comment continued] Pompilia was sent to a convent in Rome before being returned to her parents’ house, where she gave birth to a son on 18th December. On 3rd January 1698, Guido and four accomplices murdered Pompilia and her parents. On February 22nd Guido was beheaded in the Piazza del Popolo, Rome, and the four accomplices were hanged.
Browning believed that Pompilia and Caponsacchi were innocent. The whole of the poem is available online (although as it’s twice as long as “Paradise Lost” it wouldn’t be good to try to read it all online):

There is also a very interesting book on all the places mentioned in the story: ‘The Country of “The Ring and the Book”’ by Sir Frederick Treves, Cassell & Co, 1913 (reprinted 1929).

Hi Tony,
thanks for your kind words in my guestbook. I am not really satisfied with the 'quality' of these old pics but felt I would need an inducement to complete or replace them by new better ones. :)
Hope so much you're feeling on the mend today in spite of another sleepless night!(?)
Best regards - Petra

Tony, I agree with you that the children appreciate their earned money. Often the parents themselves ruining their children by giving them too much money. However, it is not to rule. Yours.
