Hi Tony,
Krys will perhaps get too big for his boots if we go on lauding him like that. But: You are right! ;-))
Have a nice day - Petra

Thank you Tony for your kind words. I am just sharing my experiences, you know. 'Sharing is caring' hehe. I still have a few more tips to give from my travels last year. I do not think I said it all about Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan yet. I need to do some catch-up before the tips become outdated.
In last 7 months I have been so busy - mainly with computers - that when I get home, I can only suffer my home machines so much...
I really had a great time in Brighton. I was pleasantly surprised actually, as I obviously heard about the reports and the degenerate culture that might have developed there. Maybe Brighton is heading in the right direction, who knows? Could this be a sign of change for the better?
I have just published a report from my recent visit to Brighton. I have raved about it a little, although I know that the resort has not enjoyed the best of publicity in the last years. But in all honesty, I have not experienced any of the reported nastiness. The people were really friendly, much friendlier than in London (oops, that is actually not hard! hehe), and I have not seen a single drug addict. Lucky, I guess, or perhaps media just create this sensation and blow it out of proportion... Hmm...

Thanks very much for reading and rating my report on Istanbul. It was a while ago when I visited, so my memory was a bit hazy for details. But I hope you got a flavour of the place.
Yeah, sympathy - although I thought it was reserved for expressing feeling after someone's death. Star Alliance, actually, has been found by five airlines, Air Canada, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines System, Thai Airways International, and United Airlines - none of which have had much to do with Eastern Europe, apart from Lufthansa, which did fly to some eastern European destinations. Now, there is only LOT Polish Airlines from EEC that belongs to the alliance. I am curious how you might have thought there were more EEC airlines there. Hehe :)
It is formidable airlines' alliance. With over 20 members it is also the largest. I have had extraordinary experiences with airlines belonging to the alliance and only one, Continental Airlines, that does not belong to them impressed me. Although, I am hearing that Continental is about to join the alliance later this year. I flew on all member airlines but Air New Zealand, Croatia, Blue1, Turkish, US Airways... Loved them all.
Thanks for the words of empathy, if that's the right word. Oh, in the past, I was able to secure good value airpasses. Like the one in Ethiopia. I had great hopes for this one. Well, such is life. I guess I will wait and see and then I will make sure I will complain very strongly to Star Alliance. I learnt from past experience that complaining often give positive results. At least in compensation... hehe. Monetary, vouchery, or air-miles...
