Bangkok is a city that is very much oriental., at the same time westernized.. Thailand has probably been the only country in Asia not to have been under colonial rulers. bangkok is a city with high traditoinal values, yet you would find it one of the most advanced cities in terms of the entertainment and services;) provided The city's innumerable massage parlours do serve as a front ends to the prostitution industry that thrives there. The industry is worth a few hundred million dollars for sure!

The Emarald Buddha Temple and the Golden Buddha Temples are a must to see!
Accommodations:
In Bangkok you can find acco as cheap as 5 USD a day to 300 USD a day.. You have a lot of hotels around Silom that offer cheap accomodation, Silom is about 500 THB by fare by taxi from the BKK International Airport. ( 1 USD = 39~40 THB)
Mind it..Silom is the hot bed of Prostitution too:)
