Skiing at Perisher Smiggins

  11 votes
Lisa, myself and two of our closest friends went skiing over four days - except only skied one day and hung out the rest of the time. It wasnt the best trip ive been on but Im glad Lisa got to experience skiing for the first time.

Lisa skiing with a singlet on - it was hot!!

We recently went down to the Snowy Mountains which is within Mt Kosciuszko National Park. It's south west from Sydney, past Canberra and really beautiful. We stayed in Jindabyne which is about half an hour away from the slopes. Skiing is a big adrenalin rush when you can do it fast, but all four of us fell quite often. I thought I'd be really cool and ski in the man made jump thing for snowboarders and went shoulder first into the ice wall - painful!!. No major injuries for us and I cant wait to go back again. I think Perisher has a fantastic atmosphere and a real buzz in the air. I havent been skiing anywhere else so cant judge just yet.

Favourite spots:
The Jindabyne Bowling club had the nicest food!! Perisher Smiggins was the best place to ski and the pub at the bottom of the hill was the best pub to drink at....

What's really great:
That's me skiing... or trying too....

The skiing day was the best day by far... The cost to hire everything was impressive too as we only had to pick up and drop off right on the slopes.

Sights:
Mt Kosciuszko National Park is really beautiful and I wouldve liked to go hiking - perhaps in the summer would be more sensible.

Nightlife:
The Bowling Club in Jindabyne - cheap drinks and great food..
