The main reason I went to Liverpool was to meet my partners family and friends. I didn't expect to fall in love with the people and places, to give up everything in Sydney and move over there!!!
With some immigrants before they boarded ship
Liverpool has a really friendly feel about it. It is just like any other city by the appearance but the atmosphere is very different. Liverpool has a lot of history and I believe it was from there that all the English immigrants got their $10 ticket to Australia 50 years ago. The beatles started there as well as many other pop bands that we know today. Liverpool is about 6 hours to London which spins me out cause it takes about 8 hours to get to Byron Bay from Sydney - and thats still in NSW!!
Favourite spots:
Ferry across the mersey...
My favourite spot is of course my parents-in-law in Wavertree. I also enjoyed catching the 'ferry across the mersey' and listening to the commentary on board about Liverpools history.
What's really great:
I liked that there were so many chippees to get a quick feed. I also loved the cabs - they look sooo cool...
Sights:
Penny Lane
Mersey
Penny Lane
The cavern
Sargent Peppers
Other recommendations:
The oldest house in Liverpool
The black and white house which is the oldest in Liverpool 1501 and it was hand built. They have tours and many stories about that house. Also the Maritime Museum was interesting with lots to see and do.
