London - many Places, little time

London is a great city! There's always more to be seen. For instance the British Museum (where the Rosetta Stone currently is), or Shakespeare's Globe Theater.

St. Paul's Cathedral
St. Paul's Cathedral
The best way to get a view of london is to get on the 'London Eye', the World's largest ferris-wheel. From there you could see almost all of london; Buckingham Palace, Harrod's, St. Paul's Cathedral, and as good as everything else. You can also take a boat cruise on the River Themes and learn something about history along the way. There's nothing you can't see, but not enough time to see it all (at least if you're staying there as a tourist).

Favourite spots:
My favorite spot was the Buckingham Palace. It's always something watching the 'Changing of the Guards'. Two 'groups' of Guards come marching in, Orders follow (in between also), changing of the guards (you don't normally notice it because of the music and marching troops) and music. After the music and changing, they all march out again.

What's really great:

I really liked 'Ghosts of the old City', which is one of the many London Walks. They talked about Ghosts, butchering, beheadings, deaths, ghosts, spirits and showed all sorts of historical places like where people like William Wallace and Henry VIII were killed. My favorite place was the Viaduct Pub (it was one of the stops we took on the tour). They said that there was a Poltergeist named Fred who liked throwing things and had an interest in young women who are around the age of Puberty.

Sights:
As also explained, the London Eye gives a great view of London. You can almost see all of London, and the London Eye is right on the river Thames.

Hangouts:
The Viaduct Pub is a fairly good pub, and has a poltergeist as explained above.

Restaurants:
The Victoria Station

My favorite restaraunt was the 'Blue Jade'. It is near the crossing of Cambridge and Hugh Street.

Other recommendations:
Another great spot in London is Harrod's, a department store which is an attraction not only as a food court, egyptian hall, Princess Diana's memorial (the owner of Harrods' son dated Diana), and other departments, but for it's great Architecture. There's something in every room to see; not only Egyptian's hall, but (oddly enough) also the bathrooms. Also King's Cross is a MUST for Harry Potter fans; there IS a platform 9 3/4!

Nice little report on a big city. I like that you mention the 'London Walks' and I would recommend it to anyone visiting London. You can learn so much in such short time. Keep reporting!

You've made a point when talk us about the 'Ghosts of the old City', because places not only involve buildings, persons and things and history, but hiden stories and mistery, and that's attractive.
