My favourite location on Earth!!!

Here, I spent the best ten weeks of my life... and I try to come back every year for a longer vacation, so the next time will most probably be late September... and I can't wait to go there again..

Paris travelogue picture
Paris, the capital of France and one of the most beautiful cities of the world... I get pathetic when I just hear the name! I went there for the first time on March 4th, 2002. I only wanted to learn French and go home, but it grew into an unforgettable experience. It was the first time I was alone away from home and I enjoyed myself very much. I didn't know where to go first- finally, it was the Eiffel Tower. I did also visit almost everything else Paris has to offer, and if I'd write down all my experiences, this would be far longer than 2000 characters. The best is to go there and see on your own. There are too many things to do and see there and in my opinion, you'll need a week or two for seeing the most important. I've been there for 13 weeks all in all and haven't seen everything, I think.

Favourite spots:
Paris travelogue picture
the Eiffel Tower; Belleville; Quartier Latin; Chinatown (around Porte d'Ivry); Père Lachaise cemetery; Centre Georges Pompidou; the Champs-Elysées

What's really great:
Its people, language and unique atmosphere, its sights... and the food of course!

Sights:
Eiffel Tower

Quartier Latin

Père Lachaise and Montparnasse cemeteries

Saint-Germain-des-Près

Hangouts:
The Galway (6 quai des Grands-Augustins, 6e)- an Irish bar with English-speaking staff

Restaurants:
Taverne du Maître Kanter (it's actually a chain, but the food is excellent)
