Feb 14, 2008 09:00 PM Silver mine

Silver mine Potosi, famous city in South America, during 3 centuries supported Spanish treasury. Trip to the mine is one of the main attratcions of the city. You are going into with the guide who equiped you in necessary staff (shoes, jackets, torch etc). Inside is hot, dusty and dark. And it is not a museum. People work there, so you need to be careful about the trolleys. Tour took four hours, was interesting, and after all I know that my work is not the worst one.

Feb 13, 2008 09:00 PM Road to Potosi

Road to Potosi Today I took the bus from Uyuni to Potosi. It was only 200 kilometers but journey took more than 7 hours. Again I realized that Bolivia has one of the most spectacular view in the world. High mountains, deep valleys, wild rivers and a lot of colours. Breathtaking. I regret that I didnt took camera with me. I have only a hundered of photos. Potosi is an colonial town with a lot of old pretty buildings.
Tomorrow I am planning to visit a silver mine

Feb 12, 2008 09:00 PM Salar de Uyuni or Laguna de Uyuni

Salar de Uyuni or Laguna de Uyuni There is a dozen of agencies offering a day trips to Salar de Uyuni. I paid 130 bolivianos. But what i discovered - all salar was covered by the water !!! There is no entry to fish island. Anyway I decided to take a trip. It was something for remember.

Feb 11, 2008 09:00 PM Road to Uyuni

Road to Uyuni It is quite difficult to find a transport from San Pedro to Uyuni in Bolivia, most of the travel agencies offering a organised tours 3 days which costs about 100 USD. Finally I found Pamela tours which proposed the transport from San Pedro to Uyuni. Cost was 15 000 pesos (had to pay extra 1500 pesoso on the border). It was one of the most beautifull roads in my life. Crossing Cordillera mountains, then Altiplano was something special. Journey took 9 hours with stops for breakfast and lunch.

Feb 10, 2008 09:00 PM El Tatio geysers

El Tatio geysers I had to wake up at 4 am to be on time on my bus. El Taio is km from San Pedro de Atacama, and to see the nicest view you should be there before sunrise. But there is also very cold. Today was about - 7 celsius. Despite this was great, and when the sun arised was even more beautifull

Feb 09, 2008 09:00 PM San Pedro de Atacama

San Pedro de Atacama This was special journey. Long (24 hours) but worth. I made a connection via Antofagasta (not interesting city), Calama and reached San Pedro. Route from Calama to San Pedro de Atacama is one of the most pictoresque in my travels. Desert around and away the volcanos and mountains covered by snow. Unforgotable.
Tomorow at 4am i am going to see geysers.

Feb 08, 2008 09:00 PM Buenos dias Santiago,

After 14 hours flight I just reached Santiago de Chile. New journey has just started. I will leave tomorrow Santiago for reaching Antofagasta and San Pedro de Atacama. Now I am in cosy hostel "la casa roja" almost in the centre of the city.
Only one advice - it was really difficult to get the bus ticket from Santiago. All of the all full. I bought a sleeping place for 35 000 pesos * 1 usd - 460 pesos, journey to Antofagasta will take 18 hours
