We started shooting (pictures of course), but got quite rapidely stuck in some BWC (Bad Weather Conditions). It started raining and sometimes even pooring. And during this rain, it's mostly impossible to drive, because the lenzes of the camera's on our van filled up with raindrops, making pictures worthless.
During the rest of the day we stopped an started constantly, driving around and capturing about 30km's in a whole day. Which means almost nothing...

We finished off what we wanted to capture during that day, saw that we took a wrong turn on part of the road and so tested it, to capture it on the next day. It was raining and getting darker, so it was no use trying to capture it already. No, we now had to try and find a camping, to recharge some batteries, have hygienic blocks and have a good resting place.
After finding one, Wouter started to cook and I was trying to make a quality check on the data we captured.
But there was no data...
Wouter had deleted the wrong files. The files we had been working for, whole day long...
Man, this day just wasn't it.
Anyway, we got through the dunes to the beach, to watch the sea. Although it was completely dark, it was a nice evening walk.

It's midnight and we just got everything in the van. YES, indeed, we got away...finally. We had been working whole day long, to eventually find out that the insurance papers weren't on board. The whole van was filled with supplies and everything, but no papers... After a few calls, we found out where they were and everything got solved. Luckily.
We left for the sea. Knokke-Heist was our destination. Het Zwin, to be exactly. This is a nature-park and it was one of the most peaceful places I've ever slept at.

After waking up, we drove towards the center of Knokke, to get ourselves some croissants. We left for Holland and started shooting our first sessions. It worked out great and the job isn't all that difficult. It's truly fun and you get to see many places.

We arrived at Vlissingen and decided to stay there. We went out to have something to eat. Fish and fries. Both fried. Something to remember, coz it was tasteful. We also went to an Edah-supermarket, passed at the Cinecity (which looked oddly lot like siniscoop in Sint-Niklaas) and eventually went back to the van to settle. Cleaning up was something we urgently needed to do.

It's saturdaynight, so it's obvious we're about to go out. At first we couldn't seem to find lot's of people going out. So we entered the first pub we saw. It was an Irish pub. After a first beer, a girl sat down next to us, together with her husband. She was drunk as hell, but told us somethings about her life. She came from Finland. How ironic is that? Two Belgian guys, meeting a Finish girl in an Irish pub in the Netherlands...
We went to some other bars and eventually got back to the van at about 3 AM.

Driving this mobilehome isn't that easy. I mean, you have to track your own roads, control the camera's (lightening)...it takes some practice to get to know all the systems and checks...
So we had to go have a drive around fro a whole day. And so we did: we travelled towards Wouter's home, than to my own home and eventually passed a friend of us. For the rest of the time we've been driving around Gent, or at least that area.
Tomorrow, we will have to take a test. This is done by giving us an area which we will need to drive and then make our backup's, quality checks and everything and show the data to the team at Tele Atlas. Exciting... :o)

Today was our luckiest day of them all. We finally got to go to Tele Atlas and meet up with our instructor. We've got ourselves a mobilehome people!! It's a brand new one, specially designed to travel around, but have 6 cameras on board. We have everything: shower, toilet, oven, cooking plates, refrigerator, 2 seperate beds, table with seats...
And of course to control all those camera's, we have 3 IBM servers, UPS, DGPS, DMI, camera trigger, camera heating...
This car simply ROCKS!!
We've tested it...and we love it!!

We finally did it!! After hours of impatient waiting, I got the releasing phone call. Tomorrow will start our first day of training at Tele Atlas. And we should be off by Friday!! Man...I don't get stressed easily, but this waiting was killing me!!
I still can't believe I'm truly going to do this!! Yiha!!

Yes, Wouter (my buddy) also passed his medical examination. So there's nothing to stop us now from going on training!!
Therefore, I called Randstad (our job-office). But they had not so great news for us. We wouldn't start tomorrow. Something which I had hoped for. No there where just two new mobilehomes who got finished off and now needed a control, before they could be taken out to the road. And because of some other things, we wouldn't get a planning till monday. So I'm really crossing my fingers we'll be off by the end of next week. I would really like to come back after a month and then go on the special headleader weekend in the Ardennen here in Belgium. A weekend organised by the group which I'm headleader of. Always much fun and amusement!! And of course lot's of booze :o)
