thanks for checking out the ferry. i so rarely sit in a window seat at my age, but for a quick required trip i did both ways and had astounding clear weather going and coming. sometimes one gets lucky. must have taken about 30 pictures as the plane hugged the coastline from new york to north carolina.
noted your image on the top left of the home page. very nice.

Picture of Mushabbaq

Hi Eire,
thank you for your comment. The church is situated on a hill, so you can overlook the area. Far away you see a small village. It's a scarce landscape. You feel as if you lived in times gone by, when pilgrims stopped here on their way tothe sanctuary of St. Simeon. It feels as if all the noises of them were still in the air.

Vietnam report and cogratulations
Posted: 2011-03-13 08:13 AM
Hi Eira,
thank you for your congratulations. Yes, these >Jorney wa a special one. I never saw such a country. It reminded me of my childhood during and after the war, as we all tried to get back to a "normal" life and living conditions were -to say the least - difficult.

Hello,
Thanks for your kind words about getting AOM and for my report. It is really nice to be recognised.
I just had a look at your pictures from Costa Rica, they are magical; now that is green and lush. All the animals as well, what a great trip! Jealous...
All the best

Torun photo collection
Posted: 2011-03-10 07:47 AM
Hi Eire,
Thanks a million for your very kind words re my photo collection of the medieval Torun. I took them with my silly iPhone camera, so they are not the quality I normally aim at, but I thought I should share them anyway. Torun has so much potential and revenue from tourism should only contribute to better success of the city.
I am very glad you liked the photographs.
Kindest regards

Torun in Poland.

Hi Eire,
Many thanks for your comment on my report on Torun. The city is truly remarkable from the historical perspective, the architecture, the medieval agglomeration, etc. It is a true medieval gem.
I think in the summer it would be so lovely to wander around. Winter was fine, but it was cold and the wind did not make walking about the town that pleasant. Luckily, there were many cafes, bars, pubs and bistros to hide away and sip mulled wine - the medieval style ;)
I highly recommend giving Torun a go.
Kind regards

Thank you Eire for your comment on my report about Vietnam. I never saw such a country, beautiful and Irritating, where people were doing their daily work diligently and smiling.
