Aha from Greece

Eire,
That explains it. Is Ikaria one of the very small island near Samos?

Have you spent many holidays in Greece? It is one of our favourite countries. But it has cjanged a lot since it has been a member of the EU.

Sometimes I think the old days were better (but that's not fair for the Greeks themselves) Last year we were on a nostalgic trip and revisited many places in Greece, on the mainland, also Florina, where we had been with our children when they we young.

The places have changed, are more modern, are bigger but the Greek spririt and Greek life is still the same.

Hi Eire

Well then, my official compliment to this great piece of handicraft. It really looks great. So this makes 11 dresses all done by you, wow, no wonder you need glasses :-)

Was your son lucky with his interest in girls? Or did he just try out every single one of them in the last 10 years... makes an average of 9 months per girl :-))))))

Just kidding ;-)

I wonder, as Marianne, how come that It was Greek dance you/he chose other than the girls, do you have any relations to Greece?

Have a great day

The Valley of Fire

Hi Eire,

Glad you are inspired by my photos! I bought a copy of the guide for the park, and as far as I can tell, there are only two campgrounds, both near the west entrance to the park. The trails seem to be designed for day-tripping. Three are about 1 mile long round-trip, one is 2 miles, then 4.5, 5.5,and the longest one is 11 miles.

There is a note in the guide that says, "Some uses are restricted to specific areas. Ask at the Visitor's Center for more information."

I am moving to Las Veggas in June, and am looking forward to exploring the desert. It's a big change from Washington and Oregon! I'll be close to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion parks in Utah, Mesa Verde, in New Mexico, and Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. I am looking forward to it.

Happy Trails!

Florina

Hi Eire,

I was following the conversation about national costumes. Why did you make costumes for Florina? Are you originally from thiis place?

We have been there several times and really like it, because there are hardly any (foreign) tourists, it is just Greece and a lovely place to be.

hiya eire

glad that taj report helped u!

yes.. grab whatever souvenirs you can when at agra, as you cant find them elsewhere. btw.. make sure you get the bag of keychains containing about 12 pieces. the boy hawkers will come up to u asking u to buy them. i paid 150 rupees for a bag. but as the bus was moving out, my fellow traveller bought the same stuff and got it for 100 rupees!

dont forget to buy postcards and get the stamps from the hotel to mail it out to your folks / friends.

look out for my other reports (on the way) on delhi and jaipur. i will be providing more shopping tips! (";)

speak soon,

Eire,

Thanks for reading my Colva report and I am glad you enjoyed it. It is a great place to be, if you like sand and sea. Also a good place for children.
