Hi Amanda,

Thanks for your reply, I enjoyed the travel tips, as I am not allowed to fly for about 12 months ( a long story) i have decided to do a travelogue of pubs and inns in Devon, maybe not very exotic to all you much travelled Globies, this may take some time as I have a list of many hundreds and it is only fair sample the wares of each one:-) Regards to you, keep uploading the pics, Tony.

Hi Amanda,
Hehe, yeah - Oz & Pacific is terribly unexplored by me yet. I only went to Sydney, so far. But if all goes well, I am hoping to go to New Zealand and a few Pacific islands this Christmas and New Year.
Can you keep fingers crossed? I need to save up big for this one.

Hi Amanda,
I hope you are well. It depends what you mean by recent. I have been cooking the report for a long time. I think it has been at least a couple of years... actually. But it does not feel like it at all. If I could, I would have jumped on plane and gone there, if only for a weekend again!
I was hoping to put a smile on people faces about the NYC, London and Paris stereotypes. They have been used in so many books and films. Do you remember the part in Ghostbusters 2, when the Mayor said - "This is New York, and the citizens have the right to hate each other" or something to that effect... Or in the 'Veritcal Limit' movie, where the French Canadian's mood swings were branded that on the day when she is French - stay away, on the Canadian days she was apparently alright. :) The observation about the Londoners is mine! LOL.
Kindest regards

Ferries are quite safe, I ve been living here for 15 years and I could not remember a fatal accident in case of ferries.

Amanda,
Did you do a tour through Turkey? My daughter is trying to decide between Turkey and Nepal (talk about opposite destinations!) for 2010. I know it is a ways off, but any tips you have would be appreciated!

Oh, and we pay a high price for being close to the Beach! All the same, I can't complain!

I passed through Istanbul briefly about 40 years ago and never got to see it, your report and pics has made up for it at last, Cheers, Tony.
