Hi Amanda,
Congratulations on scaling the Globo Summit. Wow, what a remarkable achievement ! Affectionate regards from a fellow Brit currently in exotic India. I look forward to your visit to mystical Kerala, hopefully in the not too distant future. Take care and God Bless!
Cheers,
Kris

Hi Amanda,
You've became our new number 1 (our guru). It only means how much work you've done to make Globo better. My congrats again.

Report of the month.

Posted: 2008-03-03 01:54 PM
Thanks Amanda. To be honest I did not think I would win report of the month twice in a row, so it is a nice surprise, particularly as there seemed to be an exceptionally large number of good 5* reports in February.

Many thanks Amanda for congratulations. I have been unaware of GLOBO's existence for so many years, that I am now trying to catch up.

I will try to do better with reports next month! ;)

Kindest regards,

Trailfinders

Amanda,

Thanks for your kind comments. The Trailfinders idea is not bad. I'm rubbish in getting myself organised re publishing anything. How do I go about and submit one to them?

Kindest regards

Hi Amanda,

The fort was built around 1300s and is the gate of the west end of the Great Wall. But of course, it has been restored like many parts of the Great Wall in China.

Ur old pal Kris here!

Posted: 2008-02-29 11:19 PM
Hi Amanda,
Greetings after a long time from Malabar. Hope u r well. I know u r travel wise pretty busy. The good news is that I have decided to spend more time here. That's good news for me as I am enjoying my time here after a long vacation away from Globo.I hope to be useful for other members in various ways here at Globo during this second leg of my membership. Its difficult to believe its almost 5 years since I left England. I plan to concentrate in projecting Kerala through Globo as the rest of the world is well represented by our marvellous members here. Drop me a few lines and stay in touch when ever you can. I wish you a great 2008 belatedly.Take care and God Bless!
Cheers,
Kris

Rapa Nui Volcanoes

Posted: 2008-02-22 09:05 PM
Hiya. On Rapa Nui (and I think it should be a separate country for our GLOBO purposes), the volcanoes are all extinct. There are three main ones, which created the island, one in each corner of this triangular island. And the Rano Raraku, a small volcano in the middle of the island. Rano Raraku, where they carved the statues and the Rano Kau, where I went on my last day, and where the Bird Man cult was born - their craters were flooded. They had lakes in them. The Rano Raraku crater was much larger, but flatter and the lake there did not look so significant, while the Rano Kau was smaller but steeper - I could imagine how powerful the eruption might have been - and the lake was more dramatic, but perhaps owing to the fact that I could get closer to the lake.

Greetings
Krys
