for you comments on my Chicago report. And I agree that it was a bit short, but I was only there for a day and you can only see and do so much...honestly I figured it would be a 4 star report, as I only had a few pics and didn't fill out all the sections.

Hi David,

Thanks for signing my guestbook. I joined globosapiens ages ago but finally got some decent photo software recently and have enjoyed uploading pics and seeing everyone else's contributions. I enjoyed your Portugal entries.

Hi David,
Cogratulations on winning MOM for December. Its fascinating to see your efforts here. You are going to the top of the Globo listings like a high speed Japanese train. And while doing that you've made winning various awards just a habbit. Well done mate. i am really happy for you. I wish you a better 2006. take care and carry on achieving!
Cheers,
Kris

How can MoM be a Parasite?

Posted: 2006-01-03 10:57 PM
David,
I was so glad to see you chosen as MoM for December! It is so well deserved!

I am delighted that your son Guy is learning to dive. I have so enjoyed diving ~ two of my children now dive and it has been marvelous to be able to share that strange, colorful world. That said, I will share with you that I learned to dive in Monterey Bay which is quite cold, rough and murky. It requires very thick double wetsuits (Farmer Johns), hoods and gloves. I am not generally faint hearted but I bailed on my first two attempts to open dive and nearly gave up. A friend let me know that it was much easier in the warm, clear waters of a reef. Fewer weights are required, less gear and you are generally able to move more easily. That saved me from giving up entirely. I am sure that Guy will not experience this lack of heart, but it stunned me as I have long been a swimmer/kayaker/rafter and have no fear of water in general. Welcome to the underwater world!

Eire
