Hi there

David,
Thanks for reading my report on Krakow. It's definitely worth a visit. The Jewish theme I found quite interesting, but even excluding that it's just a great city and the town centre is full of history.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.

Dear Sir

Dear David, Sir
...the intention was not to upset you but to protect and keep up the quality of photographs at GLOBO. All members wish this I know. I noticed continuing irregularities and reacted for the community. I'm sorry for that because I now look like a bad guy whereas I was acting for the good of the community, I will rather report such observations direct to staff in future. You cannot be hold responsible for how your friends and fans rate. Great is that over years a true average is achieved for all contributions. Your contributions, specially the detailed reports on the british countryside are an considerable part of the databank, fantastic and well acknowledged! Comming up is your first aniversary at GLOBO, Congratulations!
Regards,
Rudi

Hi David,
I had a most curious message from Rangutan / Rudi.
He writes:
I had terrible dispute with "davidx" last week and I thought the ghost was chased and all resolved. It was about someone rating his poor/good/avererage pictures as ***** top best worldwide traveller classics. I've noticed that you, member hourke and others are amougst those that sometimes rate pictures much much more than they deserve. The result is that true international and real explorerer pictures go down the drain!!! Perhaps the member needed sympathy or the member needed attention, but please this does not help the rating (position) of others, neither is it appetiting to new members and travellers!
Please rate pictures according to there TRAVEL value and quality! (end quote)
What does he mean by: true international and real explorerer pictures go down the drain!!!
Continue in message 2.

Hi David,
Interesting to read how ratings for you Todmorden pictures vary. I don't quite agree with: non-tourist view of the Stoodley Pike pictures. This is typical Yorkshire to me. I think it is 'touristy'. It is also a picture that could feature on a Yorkshire calendar. (I love these calendars)

David,
Mankinholes ** travel related and in focus. A simply useless picture unless in a SLIDESHOW. Good composition but bad background, angle rather lower or to side without the blue car and bails in PLASTIC, terrible?
Rams **** wonderful view of an artists backyard. Well balanced colour and themes and a 1000 words behind it. Travel related? -partially.
Stoodley Pike **** interesting view with lots to look at, non-tourist view but excellent for references and archives

David,
Mankinholes 5* composition is good, it is in focus. On the left there is a trace of a blue car? But it intrigued me as did these black balloons and part of an animal face.
Rams 4* because on the left part of a car visible. If you had cut that off you would have had 5*. I like the sloping horizon line and the vague contours of the hills (they are hills, aren't they?)
Broad Carr farm 4* because the telegraph pole on the right. It would have been nice to see more of that. It looks the old fashioned type, that is a good eye catcher. (Is this your house?)
These pictures make me realise how beautiful Todmorden is. It looks good for long walks.
