should have thought of two faces to go with the two fountains. and, btw, we survived the hurricane unscathed, but one daughter lost electric overnight and the other may not have power till the weekend. not even a tree down for us. lucky.

coincidence

well i was sitting here catching up on all my emails and correspondence and you were next on the list, really. the hurricane was supposed to pass directly thru our community as on the tv maps of the last several days but it has apparently suddenly weakened, only a tropical storm, and turned slightly inland. flooding will be the major problem with a lot of underground power cables etc. right now it just isn't that bad, although of course it could worsen. 100 kph winds maximum.
wanted to thank you for visiting my newest budapest material, still more to come if i still have power after the letters. and will check to see if you have posted anything recently. have a good week.

Your comment on my picture of Ma'alula
Posted: 2011-08-20 09:06 AM
Thank you, Petra. I thought it would be good to show the Syria, as it was a few years ago, so peaceful and so secure for a woman traveller. Now the beauty and the history is in danger. The picture isn't clear cut because the air wasn't clear, maybe because the desert is so near.

Danke Petra,
Wow it is nice to receive reward again. I also missed Globo (as you know) very much. For years it was my favourite website and I always started my day here. I am also happy that I contributed here. And you are right - I still have some materials to upload :) But I would really like to see Jorge Sanchez, Rudi aor David again here....
Have a nice day

The cheap version of German...
Posted: 2011-08-13 06:41 AM
Hi Petra,
Hehe, I thought you might like my silly comment about the Dutch language. I actually use this term also for Afrikaans, sometimes branding it the cheap version of Dutch. :) Now, this compared to German would make is a real bargain.
OK, seriously. I am about to embark on a real holiday for the first time since 2009, my trip to China. A real holiday, according to my standards, is a trip that lasts longer than 15 days. And this one, covering Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Barbados with possibly day trips to Argentina and Paraguay. I hope to be able to report via the travel log how that trips goes while I am on the road.
I might occasionally put a photo or two on my Facebook page, too.
Best regards
Krys
p.s. Actually, there was nothing new in the red light district. Same all, same all.

Hey Petra,
Thanks very much for your comments on my report on Siem Reap. Not a lot of competition this month.
I hope you are well.

appreciate your comment on the bridge - a random picture from a carpark of a fish store, worked out nicely. n.
