This was our starting point of our trip in Australia. We were told by our travel advisor to start here and work our way south so thats what we chose. The reason behind this was because most young travellers in Oz start in Sydney and work their way North.

What's really great: |
Our day trip on 4/12/01.....Was a day never to forget. After an hour and a half catamaran trip out to the reef we anchored up at Saxon reef and donned our stinger suits and had a quick snorkel. Then for me it was a half hour scuba briefing and then the main event. This was my first ever scuba dive and what a place to do it. The guide's were absolutely brilliant, thorough, proffesional, friendly, imformative, considerate and very comforting when I was feeling a little under the weather with motion sickness. On the whole.......WOW!!!

Accommodations: |
Stayed in the crappiest Hostel after arriving at 0530. Vowed never to return to this place as long as i live. Also made sure that from this point on I checked every room that I was thinking of staying in. Sorry folks but can't remember its name, so be careful.

Nightlife: |
The Woolshed!! The only good condition with the above accomodation was that you had a free meal at the woolshed. Really nice place and lovely home-cooked food. Then the place turns into a very lively club with all travellers mingling and having a general laugh. Good night out!!
