The road from Lima to Nazca is an 8 hour trip that follows the coast and is very scenic. At times you look out one side of the bus and it look like the wine growing region of France and the other is like the Sahara.
|
The bus stops at several places along the way to pick up other passengers, and you have to be quick to get off for the toilet and a fag break, nearly got left behind at one stop. On arrivel at Nazca, found it to be a very small and lively place. very easy to find my way about.

Favourite spots: |
The main street in Nazca was very busy with shops, bars and restaurants. Had a meal at Grumpys, good food in a clean and tidy place, not the cheapest but good.

What's really great: |
The reason for being in Nazca, The Nazca Lines. For $70 we were taken to the airport from our hotel, shown a video about the lines Flightpath of the Gods which was very interesting. We were shown to our plane, a 4 seater cesna and I was sat next to the pilot, so I was the co-pilot. The flight over the Lines took about 30 mins and the pilot was banking the plane left and right at 45 degree angles so we could see the geoglyphs of animals and birds. A must see experience.

I didn't know it only took 8 hours from Lima - interesting. You could have put in a little more detail. |
