This is a beautiful city! There are quite a few sights to see one of them, the Mercu Tanda, the first landmark in Putrajaya where the site of federal administrative centre was established here in 1995.
|
There is all sorts of beautiful buildings here including the Darul Ehsan Palace which is the weekend palace of the Sultan of Selangor. Good views are available of it from the water and boulevarde.
The Perdana Putra complex is next to the Putra Mosque. This building houses the offices of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as several other ministerial departments.

Putra Mosque at Putrajaya
|
|
The Putra Mosque is a beautiful mosque built out of rose tinted granite, has a central asian Islamic design, with a distinctive Persian dome. The Prayer Hall is simple and elegant.
Its 116-metre minaret is influenced by the Sheikh Omar mosque in Baghdad, while the basement wall of the mosque resembles that of the King Hassan mosque in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Mosque was completed in 1999., and can accommodate 15000 worshippers at a time.
It is in a lovely position by the lake. You get beautiful views from here.
I loved walking around it and admiring the beauty.
You have to wear a pink coverall, this if provided for free

What's really great: |
A cruise is a good way to see the sights from the water. You get good views of the major sights. The Boatman, will point all of these out, and tell you about them. I found it a very enjoyable cruise on a hot day. My choice was the gondola like dondang sayang which cost 20mr and lasted for 25minutes. My boatman took some photos of me for memories, I was grateful for this as I was travelling on my own. Have a look at their website, as there are few cruises to choose from, including ones with Dinner/Lunch included. There are various types of Boats as well for the different cruises.
Directions: The cruise leaves from underneath the Putra bridge. Website: www.cruisetasikputra-jaya.com

Sights: |
Mercu Tanda is the first landmark in Putrajaya where the site of federal administrative centre was established here in 1995.
It is located in Putra Perdana Park, set high on a hill overlooking Putrajaya. Views can be had of the city from here.
The Putrajaya Landmark symbolises the beginnings of Putrajaya with its time capsule structure. It actually looks like a wizard's hat!
Landmark plaza is landscaped with trees and water fountains. The Perdana Mall are pedestrian walkways linking the Landmark and Entrance Plaza to Cascade Plaza, Fragrant Garden, gazebos and pergolas
Its a nice area for a stroll around

Other recommendations: |
Also here, is the SOUK, this is where you find things to buy, only the day I was here, a lot of the shops were shut, don't know why. I browsed around at the ones that were open, I should think it would be quite interesting when they are all open.
This is a nice area to relax, if you have been doing a lot of walking like I had.
