Singapore was a big surprise. I thought it would look like a third world country for some reason. It is one of the cleanest countries Ive ever seen.
The pool at the Hotel
The heat was fantastic - if you like the heat and you have somewhere to swim. Its apparently always really hot even when it rains. I couldnt imagine it to be that hot all year round, but i dont think id complain. The city is very much like any other city with the big shopping malls, lots of places to eat etc.
Favourite spots:
China town
Little India was fascinating, as was China town. I also liked the gardens and of course the Hotel we stayed in.
What's really great:
We liked the heat and swimming in the hotel pool probably the best. I also enjoyed the bus trip which had commentary about the city as we drove around.
Sights:
China Town
Little Italy
Flower gardens (cant think what its called)
Accommodations:
Having a famous 'Singapore Sling'
The Marina Mandarin was by far the best. We had a singapore sling at Raffles but it was no-where as nice as the Marina Mandarin PLUS we were given an upgrade to a suite on the top floor. You cant beat that!!
