Tunis is a big african city. The comercial and industrial center of Tunisia where you can find all kind of facilities. Tunis is not the real africa that all of us dreamed sometime but still is beautiful.

Favourite spots:
Tunis travelogue picture
The Medina (Old muslism quarter), Bab el-Bahar gate, the markets, The Zitouna´s big mosque, the Bardo museum, Aziza princess tomb, Dar Hussein palace, and a lot of minor mosques and markets, zocos, etc...

What's really great:

What i like more is that you can make lot of excursions from Tunis city. The best, for sure, is go to the Carthago ancient archeological site that i found really interesting. Also Sidi Bou Said, a little beautiful town at the sea coast.

Sights:
I really enjoyed just walk inside the old big Medina to see some of the 700 old monuments: mosques, mausoleums, palaces and madrassas (Islamic places to learn the muslim traditions, religion, etc)

Accommodations:
I was at this hotel,Hotel De Tunis: 2, Rue Zarkoun.
Not so well located but nice and clean. Just 2 stars hotel but really more than enough.

Nightlife:
I didn´t feel safe going out at night.
Anyway if you want to try, just do it, but be ready to listen muslim music all night long. brrrr!!!!

Hangouts:
There are not twoo much pubs but really doesn´t matter, just can drink tunisien beer and listen bad music.

Restaurants:
Everywhere!! is so cheap and SPICY!!!!
if you like spicy that´s your place.

Other recommendations:
The Bardo museum, don´t miss it.
They keep there one of the most beautiful examples of Roman, Crthago and Islamic art.
