There are loans of things to do and see in Barcelona but be ready to walk. The 1992 olympic area with the olympic stadium and the Nou Camp (F.C. Barcelona Stadium) are the best sportive spots. Architecture: The Sacred Family Cathedral, the Pedrera house, the Batllo House, Gran Via decoration, the old quarter (Barri Gothic), the big Cathedral, The Sant Jaume Place, ... Great walks along the sea coast at the harbour or just go up the Monjuich mountain to have a great views of the city. What's really great: |
What i like of Barcelona is the people, the traditions, the art and the culture of this people, completely diferent of the Spanish people. The Catalan people is difrent from the Spanish ones and you can see it just talking with them or seeing what they do. Enjoy it.
|
|
Sights: |
Please, have a walk by the Ramblas Avenue and enjoy with the ambient, the people, the street artists and the relaxing walk to the sea harbour. Try to see the local traditions like the human towers or the dances inside the old quarter.
|
|
Accommodations: |
The cheapest that you will find will be all arround the Ramblas Avenue.
Just walk to the sea from the Catalunya square and at both sides you could find some cheap hostels.
Hostel Lloret, Alberg Palau, The famous youth Kabul Hostel, the Principal Hotel are some examples.
But take care because also the more expensive ones are at the Ramblas.

Hangouts: |
To get drunk cheap there are 2 places, the Gothic quarter (Ask for the Tonell, la Guarra, el Aguelo, ...) and the Poble Nou another area a little bit further but still great. (Ask for Ovella Negre, el Lobo, ...)

|
Restaurants: |
At the turistic area are really expensive ... just go to the Gothic quarter and have a look around to find some places really cheap. Or also at the "Born" area near the sea.
