Hi Kerrie,
I enjoyed your report on Rondo - never heard of it until now. I planning on teaching geography as a career change so this is all good.
Best regards,
Zellah

Hello,
thanks for the comment on my report. Crete was also on my wish list exactly because of the gorge of Samaria. It is a demanding walk but you can feel very satisfied afterwards. Besides you have around 7 hours to walk 16 km so it's manageable. Even if you don't go to Samaria, try a shorter gorge - there are many of them in the White Mountains. Crete is great for holidays - I'm sure you will enjoy it once you go there.
Best wishes
Irene
Definitely if you ever get a chance to go back to Spain you should visit Barcelona. It is really a great city. I liked the visiting the Aquarium, none my pictures came out well. But the experience a great. Watching the sharks and fishes swimming over my head was awesome.
One of my friends went to university in Warwick and kept on badgering me to visit - but I never.
She completed her MBA some three years ago and I finally got there. It is really a gem, I couldn't beleive how much I enjoyed wondering around the castle.
I found out about this guestbook. I didn't get a message that you signed my guestbook until today when I got one from Rangutan and was notified. Sorry I didn't signed your earlier. Maybe I erased the message.
I just did a measly report on my trip to Australia, notably on Adelaide which I really loved. Unfortunately I didn't have a digital camera and neither do I have scanner, thus, I had no photographs to upload. I recently purchased one and have taken some photos of Georgia which I will upload soon. I tried today to upload some but was not successful. Today is a beginning of really exploring the Globosapien website.

Kerrie,
Yep, its open, although it sits out about 2 hours away from the Grand Canyon South Rim Park. It is, quite literally, in the middle of nowhere, on an Indian Reservation, and it is not cheap. The basic package is $82/person, you can not take a camera on the skywalk with you and you are a captive audience on the Reservation - you eat there or you don't eat. We opted not to go - it would have added another day to an already tight schedule, not to mention the $240 in fees and another hotel night. There are a number of look out points, both on the North Rim and South Rim, that you can hike out to that let you look on three directions over the canyon.
The trip was terrific and we had a blast. My son loves geology so this was his thing but all of it was amazing! I am so glad you enjoyed the pictures!

Kerrie,
Thanks for reading my reports. Amed is still infinitely beautiful and above all very quiet. There were so many ceremonies going on that we could not go to them all. The Barong dance was absolutely the best. The villa I describe is for hire and I can recommend it.

Thanks for your wishes. Yes Srilanka was full of beautiful sights untouched and unspoiled by us humans.
The elephant orphanage had left me with mixed feelings too. Definitely, they are doing a good job caring for orphaned and injured elephants which would otherwise not survive in the wild. For example, I saw an inmate which had only 3 legs because of landmine blast. But I totally agree that a more humane and loving care is definitely required.
Thanks for your note. I must admit doing a grade 5 river was the most frightening thing I've ever done, second to that was my bungy.
But now its just a memory, I'm so happy I braved it as one of my mottos is 'try nearly everything once'. With hindsight I should have just done the 1/2 day trip and that would have been just fine.
But you must give it a go, the adrenalin rush is fabulous.
