Yes, I suspect that salt mines are very similar around Europe. What shocked me was the size of the chambers, and knowing that men has actually excavated these areas, like you said, the conditions must have been awful.
On another note, I enjoyed looking at your latest uploaded pictures.

Hi V-K
Great to see some photos of yours again after a long break. As always it's your detail that appeals to me most and I gave 5* for Little Shemogue brook.
Cheers, David
Many moons ago we were talking about visiting salt mines. Well I've just got back from Poland and I visited my first.
I was a little shocked, some how not what I expected. But it was very interesting and I'm glad I went. I uploaded a few pictures but the powers that be decided they were too dark. oh well...

After years, I see you have now overtaken Dani as having the MOST web-visitors for your contributions. Some may be due to your nice friendly character or massive amounts of uploading but certainly I know sure, for honest good creative arty photography with always correct and detailed descriptions attached. In the next few days you will be the first at GLOBOsapiens to cross the 333333 one-third-million visitor mark - very very well done. Respect!

Asia,I miss it.I am originally from Pakistan living in Central Europe.Try to see North of Pakistan,if you do not mind too much poverty and lot more dust and dirt.
Life there is much untouched by technology.
