Many thanks for your congratulatory message for the September POM award. It was certainly the finest sunset I have ever witnessed on the beach at Koh Samui, Thailand. The shot was handheld and taken on my new camera. I now use a Nikon D90 with: Nikon AF-S DX 18-200/3.5-5.6 VR lens. I am currently in Queensland, Australia and hope to take more pictures. In late October early November I hope to drive around NE Thailand and venture into Laos and Cambodia – so again I hope for more photo opportunities.

Thank you so very much for your comments. I am really pleased with the picture of the Golden Pavillion which is why I selected it as my desktop. The funny thing is, it has become a conversational peice - as everytime a colleague walks past my desk they have to stop and comment.

thanks for your kind comment on the Tricolore photo. The house, the sky and the clouds generously gave their colours to my pic. ;-) I love the profound way you interpreted the caption - I have to admit that I didn't pay that much attention to it...
