Soon after the Berlin Wall came tumbling down, my family and I went for a visit. It felt like I was stepping back in time. Now, this amazing city has flourished into a colorful hip young city. There is a huge sense of community that remains and the liberation continues.
Favourite spots:
If you visit the Friedrichshain part of Berlin you will find many cafes with food from all over the world. I did not have any positive experiences with food in the touristy parts of Berlin.
What's really great:
Alexanderplatz is a great place to visit because of the architecture, its outdoor weekend markets, nearby parks, and canal tours.
Sights:
There is one huge park located in the middle of Berlin full of little ponds where people like to bring their dogs and meet with friends for picnics
Accommodations:
If you hop on to any Berlin travel website, you can rent your own apartment from 1 day to 1 month if you like for a very decent price.
