We spent 2 weeks here visiting my husband's family. The country is very poor and tourists should be warned against pickpockets (most of which are small children) but Romania is not without its charms.
Favourite spots:
Bran Castle (the real Dracula's castle) is worth seeing. It's not scary, it's actully really modern-looking.
What's really great:
Sunbathing in the parks, shopping in the open markets.
Accommodations:
my brother in-law's house.
Restaurants:
Crama in the square. You can't miss it. They perform Romanian dances and music in the evenings.
