Hi Marianne,
I appreciate your comment especially about the state of the former U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He did so much for Americans during during the depression. He suffered from paralytic illness and visited nearby Warm Springs (name of small town).
The park is named after him and here is an excerpt that explains better than I can: "The western portion of the park, formerly named Pine Mountain State Park, was named a National Historic Landmark in 1997. Several structures in the park were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Great Depression, including a stone swimming pool and Roosevelt's favorite picnic spot at Dowdell's Knob, overlooking the magnificent valley below. President Roosevelt would take polio patients suffering from depression along on picnics at Dowdell's Knob. F.D. Roosevelt State Park is Georgia's largest state."
Thanks again. And from seeing Adam's entry below, it looks like you returned from Tunisia. Welcome back!
best. zel

A walk through Dublin
Posted: 2007-10-10 10:45 PM
Hi Marianne,
I just wanted to say I enjoyed your photos of Dublin architecture - I love the intro picture of the two doors especially. If I get back to Eurpoe next year I would be keen to travel to Ireland, one of my friends has been lviing there since July 2006 and really loves the vibe.

Hi Marianne
Thanks for your comment on my Carrbridge report. It would seem others agree that something is better than nothing, even when it's not as good as some.
As for the photos, I'd love to oblige but I just took the one before we left on the long trek home and my photos of earlier visits were lost ages ago - so I can't help.
You may have gathered from posts on error reporting and open board that I've not actually seen your comment but Rudi kindly told me what was there.
Cheers
David

Report on Wroclaw
Posted: 2007-09-27 06:42 AM
Marianne,
That's great you plan to write about Wroclaw. I'd love to read your report. I know the city a bit, but I have never done sightseeing around Wroclaw, although it's only 70 km from my hometown.
Now, I'm preparing reports from my journey around Balkans, but at the same time I started classes at the university and also working as a translator requires some time, so I'm making very heavy weather of writing it. Hope I will finish report on Veliko Turnovo in a week's time.
Waiting for your impressions and pictures from Tunisia!
Bon voyage!

Hi Marianne,
thanks for rating my report on Marrakech. The mint tea doesn't only look good, it tasted good, too! Must have drunk several liters of it.
All the best
