Praha

I'll be in Praha in October, there fore i'll read your report first.
A few hints that are not necessarily in guides (i've been several time to Prague) are:
- visit the jewish cemetery (unique atmosphere depndentless of your spiritual belonging)
- inform yourself regarding St Vincent opening hours... especially if you paln to take the stairs... can be quite frustruating
- Prague is not the best place for a diet... restaurants often offer a very good price for value!
- take one of the old tramway lines if they are still in use... it's more fun than Disneyland (but bring a helmet :-)
- pickpockets are numerous and quite skilled
- try the local beers (up to 8-11%!!!) but eat something before... also a few dry white wine are correct if drunk at the right temperature!

...it just doesn't show on the top. Now I have 3 journals and some pictures.
I'm a slow poke.
Under 'friends' is that people you invite? Because if it is you invited me.

Hi Marianne,
I just want to let you know that I read your excellent report about Tallinn, and I enjoyed it very much. You really managed to give a lot of useful information, and you also mentioned one of my favorite spots in Tallinn, Kadriorg park.
Thanks,
Malin

They move all the tome

Hello Marianne
Thank you for your comments. Yes we planted a budleja bush in our garden four years ago and this year there was a major influx of small tortoiseshell, red admiral, painted lady and peacock.
They are very difficult to approach and indeed David will see my open-winged painted lady as poaching! It was photographed on the pavement on Bath Road beside Heathrow Airport!
There was however the other buttterfly bush( of which i am ignorant of the name but it has small spherical orange flowers) growing nearby.
Once again Altamount has a plethora of butterflies in summer and it was there we purchased the budleja plant.

Thanks for the entry in my guestbook! Yes, i plan to start with a few cities like Bruxelles & Prague and i'm always pleased to answer questions on Vienna. Do not worry, after spending my life abroad in 5 different countries (incl. USA), english became my favourite language
