Hi Marianne,
thank you for comenting these two 'Greece-pictures' - this region of Crete is more or less free of package tourists and the locals make you feel extremely welcome - very relanxing :-) !
Warm regards, Christian

Hi,
Thanks a lot for signing my guestbook, glad you liked the photos from Tallinn. Have you also been there, or are you planning a trip?
We were very lucky during our trip to Estonia and Latvia last summer, the weather was perfect except for one single day. I really fell in love with both Tallinn and Riga, they are quite different cities but both very charming.
Regards,
Malin

Marianne
Thanks for reading and rating my report on Greece. I was only in Athens for a long weekend and just wanted to enjoy my time without dashing all over the city. So I kept my sightseeing very central, but it's a wonderful city, really energetic.
All the best

Hi Marianne...
I was in Tallinn from January through to July, so I experienced both ends of the temperature scale. Yes, winter was very cold, but I think not much colder than the Nederlands realy... more snowfall though and shorter days.
Most of the photos I took were in my early months there in a winter wonderland with very few tourists about.
I would recommend winter if you don't mind the cold... also Spring is great when the locals come out and have fun. Summer is a time to avoid in Tallinn with so many drunken Finns & British, also too many cruise ship hordes.
Bye!

Dali Exhibition
Posted: 2006-07-14 08:19 AM
Welcome back from your trip, hope you enjoyed it. I have a few days in Edinburgh next week.
The Dali exhibition has been at County Hall for a few years so I think it is semi permanent, I'm sure it will still be on in October. Here's a website
http://www.countyhallgallery.com/exhibitions/dali.htm
On the other bank of the Thames almost exactly opposite County Hall there is a new Battle of Britain war memorial that you might not have seen on previous trips. I think it's been there less than a year.
It is worth a look if you can brave the crowds of tourists coming off the buses on Victoria Embankment. I have some photos, will post them soon as part of the London Sculptures slideshow I am planning.
Best Regards
Clive

I will be in Nepal until Mid October, I am back in the Uk on the 17th, if you are still around let me know! I am going on the Everest Base Camp. I can t wait!

Hi Marianne,
Glad you enjoyed the photos. It is one of the most amazing sights I have ever visited. Absolutely beautiful.
The Nasrid Palace is the section you need to book for. You are allocated a half hour slot in which you can enter, once you are in there is no exit time. I booked some 2 months in advance & still couldn't book the actual times that I wanted.
Well worth the effort though.
