PayPal

Hello again.
PayPal is a company associated with e-bay.com and is a secure site for paying on-line. If you go to PayPal.com and register, you will need to enter a credit card number, that remains on record with them. When you want to pay for something, PayPal makes it real easy. It's always easy to spend money. Not so easy to get it.
I did an Internet search for Eindhoven. (Americans only know about Amsterdam, because of the drug tolerance.) It's interesting that Eindhoven is not on the sea coast. It looks close to Germany and Belgium. It was nice to read about the city and the region.

Hello again!

Thank you for responding! To correct my mistake, my trip to Rome was actually in 1985. I haven't had a chance to return to Italy. My last trip was to the Yucatan Peninsula, in southern Mexico. I have wonderful photos of Chichen Itza, the ancient Mayan ruin. Now that I have figured out PayPal, I can upgrade my membership, and have another photo album.
I looked at my slide show of Rome, and I see that it shows several slides as just black, but all the photos are there. I'm thinking of deleating all of them, and re-posting, to get rid of the blank slides. Thank you for pointing that out for me.
Good to hear from you again!

The article

Hello Marianne,
How is everything? Thanks for sending me the story, I really liked it. I find it quite informative for those who know nothing about the poet (including myself). And the description of the museum is really picturesque.
I also liked your Cologne slide show, very nice photos!
Keep up the good work, both writing and photography! Hope one day you can publish your stuff.
Greetings, Neda

Hello Marianne,
Thank you for your comment in my guestbook, and the comments on my reports! Kind people like you make this site a friendly community and a great place to share and learn.
It's funny to think how hot I was this summer in Italy, and how I wished it was cooler. Now that it is freezing in New York, I wish I could be back there!
I hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends list.
Take care~

Tunisia and Kavafis
Posted: 2004-01-23 02:22 AM
Dear Marianne,
Hi, how are you doing? Thanks for writing :)
Well, to answer to your first guestbook entry, yes, I loved Tunisia. I was really surprised with the beauty and hospitality of the country and all it has to offer. Such a small country, but yet such a diverstity! And the doors were especially beautiful!
As for Kavafis, well, I don't know much about this poet so far, we just put his poem on the web as it is about travels and Itaca, how our group is called. And the versions you read are in Spansih and Catalan, not Italian ;-)!
No, I have never been to Alexandria. Yes, I'd love to read your article. Send it to my mail, right :)
How about your travel plans for this year?
Take care, see you around, Neda

My Trip to Rome
Posted: 2004-01-16 07:01 PM
Thanks for your appreciation of my photos from Rome. I was there in 1982, as part of a news crew from Portland, Oregon (US). We were documenting the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops. The Pope had gathered Bishops from every country, to come together to evaluate the impact of Vatican II, on it's 20 year anniversary. It was very exciting to be surrounded by international news reporters. I was allowed to go places that were off limits to the public, because I was with a group from the Catholic Archdiocese of Oregon. I was alone in a room with Mother Theresa for about 20 minutes. I was allowed to go up on the roof of the colonnade, for a better view of the window of the Pope's apartment, where he gives his address to the people gathered in the square below. It was very exciting for 3 weeks, and I had my 40th birthday while I was there.
