Hi folks, I became an early pensioner in 2015 and now have a 50m² apartment in München-Laim with sunny balcony. This is the first time in my life that I am living alone. Now enjoy my hobbies!

It is indeed an unforgettable experience swimming with these humble creatures. If you are planning to dive in Florida at Crystal River, I would also recommend Devil’s Den, Blue Grotto and Rainbow River. The first two are prehistoric caverns; Rainbow River is a natural spring. It is a fast drift dive, with amazing visibility.

bold text

Rudi,
Thanks for your feedback on my Gokarna report.
I use bold so that people who just skim the report can find information without reading all of it. I don't expect people to read all the report, the bold is there to guide them through the report and decide if it is worth reading.
I use short paragraphs for the same reason.
I am not shocked or disturbed by your 4* rating. I don't write for ratings, I write because I enjoy writing.
But I do like to get feedback, like you did. It would be interesting to have discussions about style and content, but most people are too sensitive about their own writing and only want to hear positive points.

Rudi,
I could not agree more. It's people that are important, not so much buildings or other 'must-have-been-and-seen' sights, or landscapes. Although I like to see them, but not as the usual straight forward photo, but from unexpected angles.
Taking photos of people is something very delicate. I either ask or try to take the photos unnoticed. When I ask I always ask for the address and send the photos. The only problem is that when I ask people will pose and the photo is not natural.
This was slightly difficult in India because lots of people could write in English. And I could not make clear that they could write in their own language as I would cut out the address and stick it to the envelope.

Edinburgh report
Posted: 2006-03-12 05:38 AM
Hi Rudi, thanks for looking at my Edinburgh report. It was adapted from one that I used on another site and I was using it to try out things on GLOBO. It is probably a bit more personal and chatty than some others I have seen here and I will bear that in mind for future reports. I’m more of a tourist than a traveller but I’m sure I’m going to enjoy it here.
Cheers

Rudi,
Thanks for you very positive feedback. And yes, it took me quite some hours to write this report. Writing is one of my hobbiesand so I enjoyed doing this. It also brings back memories and in a way I relive the holiday.
I suppose you refer to the picture of the ladies in the sea, and the colourful ladies. These are the two I like best. It also shows that these were taken with my new EOS 250d, the others are just my instant digital camera.

Thanks for the welcome message Rudi.
Just been playing around seeing what everything does on this site and trying to work out the difference between pictures, reports, logs, tips etc.
Have started with a few things on Edinburgh but hope to be adding more things soon.
Cheers

Thank you for the nice welcome...
I do also like your pictures, they are amazing! You must be travelling a lot, don't you? Years ago I have also been to South Africa, it's a beautiful country.
See you Cony

photo titles
Posted: 2006-03-10 12:09 PM
Rudi,
I was just reading your conversation with David about photo titles, and agrre with all you said.
Another thing that might be added is: When writing picture comments, begin with the name of the person who took the photo. That way it is easier to read comments to photos that you have already commented and would like to see what others say.
I noticed that you are doing it. It helps to identify about what photo the comment is.
Maybe Andy could insert the name in the box meant for comment, so that we don't have to type it in ourselves all the time.
