Hello and thank you for rating my photo! The engine works, but not by coal or coke even by gas. It´s only for tourism yet and it´s modernized. So its not smoke at the engine. And the steam you cant see because the clouds in heaven. But you can see a little bit steam beyond the wheels.

Bye bye and have a good one!

Kai

p.s. sorry about my awful english.

Reminiscing

Hi Hugh,

Thanks for signing my guest book and indeed looking at the people pictures. You are so right in what you say. Sri Lanka also had that quality of honesty about it too - of course that tends to go hand in hand with a simpler lifestyle!

I hope you are enjoying these cooler days.

Take care,

Cheers Brit!

Hello Hugh,

how are you doing? I hope you are fine.
Thanks for the comment on Popeye pics, it was a trully beautiful place to see. I was amazed to see how the water was clear and transparent...
How is Ireland in December?

WESTERN STYLE ARCHITECTURE OF TIANJIN CHINA

Posted: 2004-12-02 05:19 AM
Gladly lets know you.

Tianjin is China's third largest city, the port of Beijing. Nine foreign powers had Concession territories in Tianjin between 1860 and 1945, including Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, Austria-Hungary, Germany, Japan, Russia and the United States. Within these former Concessions and to some extent outside them, there remains a remarkable heritage of Western style buildings.

Nearly one thousand buildings designed in classical Western architecture styles provides ample testimony to Chinese history in Tianjin. Houses typical of architectural styles found in present-day Britain, France, Germany, USSR, Italy and other European countries can be observed during a stroll of Tianjin's streets.
