Thanks for the reply, Now I work as a Rope Technician, baisically working at hights on buildings and structures, doing inspections and work that can not be accesed by any other means. Before that, actually since leaving university I have been an Outdoor Education Instructor , Senior Instructor, Chief Instructor and Centre Manager all over Europe and a little work in South Africa. Mainly working with Children with difficulties....I loved the work soooo much but unfortunatly the pay is appaling which is why I chose for the chanhe in job.. I have work in Belgium lined up and Im negotiating for a contract in Singapore right now. What do you do?
Kind Regards

Matt

More on Camels

Good point, watermelons ARE heavy.

You could probably go with jolly ranchers or peppermint candies.

And, I appreciate your consideration about nose spike pulling. So do the camels I'm sure.

Spitting and Biting

Posted: 2005-11-11 05:50 AM
They do seem somewhat fierce hooved creatures but I think thats because they aren't treated very well. I would spit and bite too if someone shoved a wooden stake behind my nose and tugged on it all the time.

But, after my Silk Road trip I've found I need to re-examine the creature we commonly call camel. I think they are sweet and gentle if you treat them nicely or feed them watermelon.

Best bet, if you come toe-to-toe with a camel, feed it watermelon and don't tug on its nose spike.

hope everything goes well.

I'm not sure if I say thank you for that comment on Jiayuguan... but I'll say it anyway. ;-)

Just kidding, the place wasn't all that interesting, I realized that as I was writing the report. the only fun part was the camel.

You should give camels a chance.

Hello David,

Hungarian is my native language, English is one of my most endeared languages next to French and Italian. I am living in Romania, therefore I speak Romanian, too. I suppose you speak lots of languages, your reports are amazing, all these emanate that your "religion" is travelling. With each journey one becomes more open minded. How open-minded must you be...!

I hadn't heard of this discovery. I will be heading back north at new year and will hopefully have an odd day to do some wandering round and perhaps take some new pictures!

Regards
Mags
