San Juan slides
Posted: 2008-07-20 10:10 AM
Thank you for sharing the slides, I enjoyed it and the colorful array of various choices on the homes simply brought a cheer to my wife who shared watching with delight. Yr style, angle & caption of the place was inspiring too, I am learning as well... Great job there Krys.

Its my Pleasure...
Posted: 2008-07-19 03:37 PM
I thank you Krys to drop by with a helpful tip, which I had indeed applied after the 8th photo but it still remains cumbersome for each and every next pic I want to add. And I honestly "loath" typing.... anyway, it keeps my blood pressure going with some oozing back to the forehead too...LoL.
What I particularly like is the end result which frankly, is all I found interesting, is the high definition on the quality with the slides, which again, is the reason why I upgraded without hesitation. The rest is pure poetry and it just amuses me to interact and with those who reciprocate respectfully.
Nothing is desired or "expected", I manage my own course and likes to lead myself but would be nicer and entertaining if others jump on the bandwagon and laugh along... :).
I'll continue more on the contact page to you, this is not the right place to allay one's problems.

Yosemite

Krys,
I have to agree - Yosemite, which is almost in my backyard (we are climbing Half Dome next month with my all female back pack group, "Babes in the Woods"), is probably the worst. Once, while backpacking, I folded up camp with all 4 of my kids because a German couple camped right next to us and refused to tree their food. In the morning they were cussing up a storm because the bears had ripped apart their packs and taken everything edible. I sent one of the kids over with extra pancakes and fruit and we loaned them our water pump.
Sincerely, thanks for all your postings! You have had some amazing journeys.

Food in Parks
Posted: 2008-07-14 06:37 AM
Krys,
Your skills as a writer and a photographer are amazing. You have contributed so much here and I am in awe.
That said, I am taken aback at your comment in your Arches Report that Americans misbehave with food. I know that it is open season on Americans. I travel - I hear it - I am effected by it. In most popular parks, there are as many foreigners as there are Americans and I have seen no international boundries on stupid (and poor) behavior with regard to wildlife. I have been backpacking for 40 years. I could tell you stories, most involving Eurpeans, about dangerous acts with wildlife, mostly bears. Food service is centralized to minimize that impact on the wilderness.

Thanks Krys for your comments on my report.
So, you already have experience in hitch hiking. Sometimes it is hard, is not it?
