We stopped in this town when we saw from the main road the dark spires and medieval walls siting on a small hill. We were impressed by the very old houses, the small yet expensive shops and the bright red and pink flowers here and there.

Favourite spots: |
The houses are built with the black lava rocks of the area, which gives the city charm and at the same time a dark side. Although we didn`t meet any dark people, everyone was very nice, we did see some very expensive item in the few shops in the town.

|
What's really great: |
The shops carried clothes, for warm and colder weather, also it had lots of china and glass.

|
Sights: |
A great part of the medieval walls are still standing, and in good condition too. They were also built using the black lava rock. This city is one of the oldest in the region, and one can even find houses built in the 15th century.

Other recommendations: |
The cobble stone streets, the churches and the beautiful houses are sure to please anyone.
