Vancouver is the Canadian Hub for most international, over the Pacific, flights. Therefore it has the largest Canadian China Town, actually, the second largest in North America, after San Francisco. Sunny and warm in the summer months, and rainy in the winter months, Vancouver has mild weather compared to the rest of Canada, due to the close Rockies which affects the weather patterns.

Favourite spots: |
The Rockies can be seen from everywhere. And they are very close by, therefore one can access them with ease. Many activities for different seasons have been adapted to the Rockies; from Skiing to hiking and tree plantations.

What's really great: |
We walked through Gastown, and the Market down the pier. Gastown is somewhat a Main St with shops, and funky restaurants, and the Market is similar yet more affordable. In Gastown we did visit an 'under construction' wax museum. Set in a basement there was about three dozen wax figures from all eras and nationalities.

Sights: |
The first Capilano Suspension Bridge was built more than 100 years ago. Built with hemp ropes and cedar wood, it was more than 230 feet high and 450 feet long. Now since 1914, the 3rd bridge, stands. It is built with metal cables, wood and cement.

Other recommendations: |
As a tradition, many Native Americans from the regions, have built Totem poles around the area. Now more than 60 years later, the poles still stand. They are interesting to visit as they are now part of the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park (Museum). One can cross the bridge and also hike the trails around the park. A restaurant and a souvenir shop is on the spot.
