We stopped at Murol for a few hours to visit the castle sitting on top of a hill which is situated on one side of the town of Murol, and the other side is flanked by fields.

Favourite spots: |
The castle is in great shape, and although we did visit off season, we were still quite impressed. In the summer, they have reenactments with knights wearing metal armors and horses.
What's really great: |
The castle has an original throne , and flags floating above the highest tower at all time of the year.
Sights: |
We did visit inside the castle where we did visit many rooms including one which must of been the bedroom of the `king`since it was very large and hosted a gigantic fireplace too. Not all the rooms were available to the public, but we did have a short walk on the top higher wall between the towers, where we had a great view of the surrounding area.

Accommodations: |
There are a few small family hotels in town, and a camping site in the nearby next town. (only a few km away)
Other recommendations: |
Around the castle they raise chicken and have medieval accessories. The town did sell great local cheese and home made wine, also I did see some shops selling lace.
