100 clicks per picture!
Posted: 2005-10-30 06:49 AM
Thanks always for your promt reactions. To your last - how do you know how many (5?) people see your pictures. Don't you meen the number that rated? I see your contributions are about 2000 items and the visitor counter is nearly at 200000 means an average visitor to your pictures/reports/etc of 100 per item. That is fantastic and FAR above member average, I think your good english, the word-finder mechanisms at search engines on the net and your reports on the small places in Britain have helped you and GLOBO. Congratulations!

Clubs on the Inca Trail!!

I believe there is a better way than the diligent efforts presently being made by members to conform to specified ranking rules in awarding points to reports and pictures.
The better way might be to allow each member to subjectively allocate stars/points (to a maximum of five) according to how useful/interesting/exciting the report is to the member reading it.
While this may not seem very clinical or systematic (in any "scientific / auditable) way, it truly reflects the utility of the report to the people for whose use it is intended.
As a consequence the points in a sort of roundabout / subjective manner can be seen to truly reflect the comparative success of each report in its attempt to reach and satisfy the greatest number of community members possible.

Hi David
I must comment that I, specially, enjoy your current series of reports and pictures on Peru, a place I love so much too but have only video material of it.
Oops! I rated your pic www.globosapiens.net/davidx/pictures-sachsaywaman---looking-to-cusco-26908.html only ***stars but thought afterwards that a person in the picture helps to clarify the scale of things! Certainly worth ****.....

A week ago I came back from Peru. Your pictures remember that lovely land. We visited in Cusco the same places.

David,
Thank you for your kindness. I didn't mean to burden you with my daughter's illness. Some days it is just closer to the surface then others. Life's trials are frequently also its rewards.
Best!

OK! I will try to do sth,but first I must take some photos of my city so please give me time to do this :) I love my city so this will be my pleasure. Kraków is famous for many monuments and old magic climat.. I live near the market-square so it's no problem to do pictures.
(sorry 4 my terrible english...;) )
