Hurghada was once a small fishing village. As the time went by, this fishing village grew into one of the best known holliday resorts and diving spots on the Red Sea. It started developing in this way some 20 years ago and it is still mainly under construction. Hurghada consists of two parts: Old Hurghada, where only locals are living and only a few tourists get there, and New Hurghada which is touristic Paradise and where all the hotels are. But it not this simple. You have two centres: The Upper and The Lower centre.

What's really great: |
There is one thing that I was thirlled about not just in Hurghada, but wherever we went in Egypt. And those are people. I had the pleasure to meet one Egyptian family that keep a small shopp near the hotel where I stayed. They are from Cairo, and a few hours before my group went there, this adorable family went home, so they were our hosts in Cairoas well. They invited 4 of us to their home and we welcomed the invitation. It is not very often to visit another culture and after a short time become guests in one of their homes.

Quite interesting, but I was left wondering about the Upper and Lower Centre. More detail would be useful. |
