We went to Sorrento on a day trip from Naples. The first encounter with this small town was great! First of all the road that leads to it is along the Mediteran so it's narrow and winding, but interesting. Make sure you take motion sikness pill!
|
Yes, it's a small town but not too small. It has that special italian look and atmosphere that we all see in movies and dream of. My suggestion is that you walk around Sorrento. It is the best way to see and feel the place...

Favourite spots: |
I have spent too little time to have a favorite spot in this place. If I had to pic, it would be a bridge in the middle of the town, under which two track lead towards the sea... It's a beautiful sight.

What's really great: |
But especially nice were those little shopps. I'm telling you, it's every shopper's Paradise! This area is well known for Lemunchello. It is a sort of lemon liquer. There is a little shopp in the heart of Sorrento that is selling only this product and Lemonchello chocolate...

Accommodations: |
As i said, it was just a day trip...

Restaurants: |
My experiance with restaurants in Sorrento is not nice. We sat at one that seemed to be nice, but we changed our minds and decided not to eat there, but instead just to have cappuccino there. When the waiter heared that he started cursing in Italian and English, yelling at us... So people started stearing!
So be careful! Think twice before you choose a restaurant.

We just got back from Sorrento.. Have a look at my report. It might bring back memories. Yours was accurate as well.
